We weren't there trying to get people out. We weren't there trying our best to save as many people as possible. Perhaps you know of some of the magical ways technology could have prevented every single death? If so, please alert the proper authorities.
It is absolutely absurd to argue that anyone wanted this massive amount of death.

I don't mean that one person would not have died.
Look at all the hurricanes we get every year! None in recent memory has had this death toll. I am just saying that if I could turn on tv and see that a catagory 5 hurricane was coming wouldn't you just attempt to get things going? Jesus Christ, if it snows up north, and there is a watch, they are out there days before salting the streets and not a snowflake will fall, but just in case. There are people being paid for emergency management...but I guess they just didn't care. No one takes these storms seriously...that's all.
I know many would have stayed..but God-these people aren't primates for goodness sakes, they are people and if they are told it's a matter of life and death...then I think they'd go. It would have been hard work but isn't human life worth it?? ALL I THINK IS SOMETHING MORE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE. That's all. I think that's being realistic.
