I have been lurking for a while but thought I would share my meeting Stevie experience. I actually have met her twice.
Once at a USC football game where her, Linds and Mick came out and did Tusk with the marching band. I was like 14 years old....so I was very nervous. Stevie was sitting about 6 seats in from the aisle. Lindsay was sitting on the aisle...I asked Lindasy if I could get her autograph. In hindsite that was probably a real crappy thing to do to Lindsay. Anyway, I didn't have paper or pen. So I didn't succeed in getting it. But I did meet her. She was very beautiful in real life. I was so nervous...I think I just froze up.
The second time I met her was at the San Diego Sports Arena where she performed with Tom Petty...I believe it was the Pack up The Plantation tour or something like that. Anyway,it was after the show and I waited at the backstage entrance. The band was getting on a bus...Stevie came out..she was basically being held up by two body guards. She was pretty out of it...none the less she was as graceful as someone could be in that state of mind. She was carrying a beer. I was surprised how small she was. She was dressed pretty normal, just a red dress, no make up. She was beautiful. She reminded me of a typical So-Cal surfer girl. She was concerned that if she gave me an autograph that she would have to give everybody hanging around one, so she said she couldn't do it. Anyway, she got on the bus, and that was it.
