Just because everyone was doing it doesn't mean they were unaware they could be dangerous! It's not like drugs were invented in the 70s and no one knew you could overdose. Hell, drugs killed Janis, Jim Morrison, Gram Parsons and Jimi Hendrix and a whole host of rock stars before Stevie ever sniffed a line of coke! How could she not know that rock stars could die from taking drugs?

The only thing I would say is that when you're young you think nothing will kill you, so I guess Stevie was like that.
