I once skipped a coworker's wedding for a Stevie concert!  If we were friends it would have been different but when I was new to the department she and the boss were very cliquey and not so nice to me. We did get to know each other and become friendly but I never forgot that awful cattyness. I told her I had a prior engagement but someone told her that I went to see Stevie!  I'm sure she is over it and now that I don't work with her, guess what? I never see her, just as I suspected would happen. |
Trust me if it was anyone else I would blow them right off. It is my first cousin's daughter, however. I can't do that. IF I did have plans already to go away it would be a different story but of course I don't. I am sure that there will be lots of great Italian food that I can stuff myself with so I guess that will be the bright side.
