This is a woman who last year had to receive lumbar steroids for herniated discs in her spine! Disco dancing all night! Imagine that!
However, not everyone has that amount of energy in their fifties. I agree with David that perhaps there is more to it than just her age...she seemed blah the first leg especially..unmotivated, uninspired...just off somehow. I think part of it was her health issues with the hip, menopause, the travelling but maybe there was more to it. I just think it is sort of unfair when fans expect Stevie to have the same level of energy and flair as she did in 1977. Everyone changes as they get older and I have less energy now, in my early thirties, than I did when I was 25. Not all fifty six year olds dance all night and bubble over with excitement. This has been a progressive thing with Stevie too...she had much less energy on the TISL tour than she did on Enchanted. The first leg of SYW was pretty bad, IMHO, in terms of her overall spark. I felt she did get better, much much better after the first summer break in 2003. When she came back in Sept..she was like a different woman, dancing, smiling, twirling...showing some enthusiasm for her songs. I adore her and am not trying to be overly critical or judgemental..it is just a general observation and my own opinion.
Lindsey has more energy now, imho, than he did twenty years ago for some reason! You would think his excitement or mania would rub off on La Nicks..she would feed off of it. It is contagious for me when watching him!
