EXACTLY. I'm not a fan of Mariah's voice per se because she's shrill and annoying with her use of it, but she keeps the vocal histrionics to herself on her new record, thankfully. I can't stand a lot of the "technically perfect" singers because they're so perfect that they're devoid of emotion when they sing. Listening to them is just boring. Give me Carly Simon or Aimee Mann over the likes of Celine and Whitney.
