I can't believe this is still going on. It's so ridiculous. No matter what the outcome is of the completely needless debate, it's already harmed the state's reputation and damaged so many kids. I clearly remember several kids that I went to school with who wanted to pursue careers in science, all incredibly smart, with all the right stats and grades, who applied to Ivy League schools and other schools and were turned down in favor of less qualified students. When asked why, the statements all boiled down to- "Well, you're from Kansas, and while your grades, test scores, and experience are all stellar, we can in no way be sure of the quality of your scientific education."

I'm a product of Kansas schools, and I know nothing about biology and evolution. That has nothing to do with the creationism vs. evolution bull****, though, and has everything to do with the fact that my freshman year Bio honors teacher was arrested during the first month of school for solicitation by giving a B.J. in a public restroom to a vice cop and was fired. Therefore, we had subs all year long. Hee.
