I bought an HP a year ago and I love it. It is a Media Edition and I don't use half of the stuff.
I need a flat panel monitor now but those are so much $. I did have a Compaq and I never had a problem with it only the OS which was the piece of crap known as Microsoft ME. YUCK! They don't think that make that OS any more. Stay far away from it!
I don't like Sony but that is my own personal preference. I never had good luck with anything that was a Sony.
