You know, the Lovelace Deepthroat debacle
is very interesting to investigate. Apparently there's lots of mystery surrounding the whole thing like the mob ties, whether or not Lovelace was forced at gunpoint to "perform" in it by her loser boyfriend, how she got hoodwinked by him to appear in stag films and prostitution, her real stance on porn: was she really taking up the feminist anti-porn movement or was she just apologetic for ever having done it etc...fascinating indeed. A friend of mine who is a grad student in American Studies is doing her dissertation on Linda Lovelace, Deepthroat and American porn. Apparently she just recently interviewed people associated with the movie and I believe people who were close to Lovelace, perhaps family members. I can't wait to hear what she's found out.
