Of course this is all subjective, but I think a lot of people who got hooked by the Dance view that Stevie as the definitive one, as hard as it is for some of you veteran fans to imagine! It is indeed true that you gravitate towards what you hear first, in most cases at least.

I totally agree. From The Dance up to now, is the Stevie period I love more. To see or listen some of her performances in the eighties communicate me a scary and blind sense of loss. The performer she's become after all the pain she had to get through never ceases to amaze me and strikes deeply my heart instead.
