Thus my point that it cannot work if we allow people to lie to the police with no meaningful consequence.
I do agree with you that the MS conviction was a witch hunt in the sense that there are far worse out there that escape prosectuion for a variety of reasons - but I cannot say she did not commit the crime. Thus, she did the time.
