I won't get into the "look at the sales" argument, because even Stevie's lowest selling albums have sold better than Lindsey & Christine's solo output.
So to say that Stevie's latter-day albums sold less
because they were of a lesser quality, is to imply that Lindsey & Christine's albums were of an even lesser quality, based on
their sales.
It's definitely an argument with dangerous implications all around.
We're also discussing a women who, for whatever it's worth, maintained a respectable level of success while suffering through setbacks and missteps that would have put the final nail in the coffin of many lesser talents.
Anyway, I've "walked down this road" many times before... just thought I'd make a couple of quick points (which, for me, "quick" always seems to be at least four paragraphs.
