I don't know that Stevie quite sings it the way Etta James or others usually did it. She injects quite a bit of rock into her vocal, but somehow it works and comes off as incredibly powerful and almost incendiary for a song that's just about being in love.

But yes, she performed it at Don Henley's Walden Woods benefit in 1998, and AT&T released it on a promo CD that included their WorldNet software. Also on the CD: Gwen Stefani doing Elvis Costello's "Almost Blue," Sandra Bernhard doing "Is That All There Is?," Sheryl Crow doing "Good Morning Heartache," Bjork doing "Gloomy Sunday," Joni Mitchell doing "Stormy Weather," plus a few others. It's a pretty great CD for a promo.
