The others are bigtime head-scratchers, but I think 'Like A Prayer' is a pretty terrific pop album.

It runs the gamut from fun, frothy love songs like "Cherish," to dark tales of abuse, like "Till Death Do Us Part" and "Oh Father."
In fact, it's probably the most balanced album Madonna has ever recorded.

Even though the music is pure pop, it shouldn't be written off as inconsequential.
