No we just carried our books. What else is there to carry around, well evidently iPods although if such a thing existed back then it would have been strictly banned. Maybe private school is different, we had to have our socks folded down according to the rules so carrying a purse to class wouldn't have even been thought of.

I think most girls usually carried makeup, money, pens, gum, carkeys, and things like that in their purses.
