I actually considered getting a pet cockroach one. There is a species called the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach that is actually kept as a pet (it is also used as a feeder insect for reptiles) but none of my local stores sell them and the only place I could find to get one only sold them by the dozen. I only wanted one. A dozen could quickly turn into an infestation. Of course a friend of suggested that I buy a dozen and just squish eleven of them, but ya know, that wasn't going to happen.
The local Petco does sell millipedes though. I considered one of them as well but wasn't going to pay $12 for a bug.
