Interestingly, it was Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts, then Art Deco then modern - it is all a progression to the steamline of modern. I LOVE the Chrysler Building in NYC - I think it is a nice hamony of all three
Also, I truly believe we have Mr. Frank Lloyd Wright to thank for that progression. I think his work was WAY ahead of its time and was brilliant in its simplicity and HUGE tiny detailing
