It was just something I read, and when I looked at the red/blue state map this past election, I was surprised (astounded more like) at how many RED states there are! And then I read that the exodus of the Democratic base from the South (the Dixiecrats) over to the Repug party got me worried...This happened in the Reagan days, a lot of Southerners are desperate (apparently) to preserve the priviledged status of "propertied/white/male" and its spread to other parts of the nation
But: in 08, just as the Republican Party will have to cast about for a candidate, so too will the Democratic Party. And who will we put forward? I wish we could clone Clinton....Too bad Hilary has so many people who hate her, I think she'd be awesome in the White House
