I can't help but think how easy it must have been to get caught up in this. I've been imagining how it would be if I were on the beach and the waters receded that dramatically. I wouldn't know what to think. I'm afraid I would have been one of the people venturing out to look at all the fascinating things that were revealed when the waters receded. And then I never would've guessed what was coming. It's horrifying. I've never experienced such a thing so I wouldn't have known that I needed to leave very quickly, just like thousands of others didn't know.
