I really love singing but I have horrendous stage fright. One time I was singing karaoke and forgot the words to Stand f-ing Back. I couldn't believe it. I also couldn't read the words cuz my brain was frozen with fear.

However, in more recent years I have become a little more comfortable so now I can at least get the words out up there. I recently did Soak up the Sun while out with Mom and the aunts, I had a good time with it, it's a fun song anyway. But my higher register was blown out from screaming for everyone, plus you can still smoke in NH and it was smokey. However, when I was done my Mom said, "You did good and you looked so pretty up there."

At home I like to sing, and in the car. I haven't been singing all that much lately. I could never be a singing star because of my panic and the fact that my voice is somewhat delicate, I don't think it would hold up very well on tour. But still, that was a dream of mine for a long time. Perhaps I will sing publicly at some point but it's okay that I won't be a star.

I've had people compliment me on my singing al ot of times. I was asked to sing with a singer friend of mine but she was too crazy to be able to follow through. And I was too crazy to do it on my own. I had a friend tell me I HAD to sing, what was I doing? That was very flattering. Once I got to sing Dreams with a band at a party, that was a total trip. They knew the harmonies and sung along and that's when I could relax and enjoy. Later on my friend said it totally brought him back to high school and listening to that song with his friends, it was such a trip! I really enjoy singing with others.

Last year I got a karaoke machine for Christmas and it has been so much fun!

Sorry for the term paper here but I am passionate about this subject, having been a closet singer for 18 years!
