For my fellow dial-up users who are encountering problems with truncated files, I suggest using a
download accelerator.
You're still not going to be downloading things at lightning speed, but it is a little faster, and... most importantly... download accelerators typically support resume, which is a VERY handy feature.
I use Star Downloader, but I'm not sure if there's a free version available for new users anymore... so look around that list, and find one that sounds good (and free!).
