Yes, bring back the old songs -- ALL OF THEM. For the rest of Stevie's and the Mac's tours, I want
rotating setlists.
Then can keep all of the songs they think they HAVE to play. Instead of just 2 or 3 rare songs every night of the tour, why not work up 9 or 10, and play 2 or 3 different ones at each show? They don't have to be PERFECT -- just passionate and emotional and maybe a little spontaneous.
The casual fans will still get what they want - the big hits they recognize, plus a few gems that maybe makes them take a look "at the other end of the chain"

. Plus, the devoted who follow them from city to city to city will basically get several very different shows.
This whole idea of theirs that, "We tried our new song 'XXX' one night, and it just didn't work very well..." is ludicrous, silly, and (if I dare say) lazy. Maybe it was just a lame crowd! Listen to the audience ... have a few "wildcard" songs that you throw in depending on how happy/stoned/sad/crazy/drunk the people are.
Imagine if they suddenly dropped the "Sisters of the Moon" bomb on a crowd as a surprise encore, and then the next night a surprise real marching band for "Tusk"?
