Well I guess when you're 11 and see your first music video on tv ever (we didn't have cable) and there's some guy smashing things a grabbing his crotch... I dunno, I think that was the beginning of the end of my innocence. 
Also, because it was my fist music video, it had an impact on me personally. I had never seen or even heard of music videos before that and suddenly there was this whole other 'form' of music - it was intriguing...
I don't really remember Thriller as being a big deal, but then again, I was only 2 so...
