Say Gov. McGreevey does resign before the deadline for the Nov. 2 election. Many voters might associate this scandal with Democrats, since McGreevey is a Dem. More Republicans might come to the polls, in an attempt to elect a Republican governor. More Republicans at the polls=more votes for Bush, putting New Jersey in play.
Doubtful. New Jersey has a strong history of giving it's electoral votes to the Democratic candidate. Kerry bumperstickers abound in the Garden State with most registered voters wanting Bush out of office. McGreevey's faux pas won't have an impact on the Presidential election, IMO.
