I do not know what you watched
, but when Stevie hauled out on stage with the Dixie Chicks they got huge applause - people stood and were singing along with them. To me, that can be called on of the largest ovations at the Divas. So, while certainly the DC received some of that applause because at that time they were VERY popular and would have goten it without Stevie, Stevie's presence certainly added to the excitement of seeing that live performace because although the DC received a large response when they were onstage by themselves, the DC got a larger response when Stevie was there with them
Of course the beauty of the song on its own coupled with peoples' familiarity with it and the IMO glowing version of it added to that response, but Stevie was part of all of that. So, I conclude Stevie got one of the largest ovations at The Diva's, which is saying alot because Cher also got one - I mean when you haul out dressed as Elvis . . .
In any event, that is my take of it. I do not expect anyone to agree with me because it is all subject to personal interpretation and that is mine
