I'm going to cheat and list one more, because no one has mentioned her (I don't think):
Linda Ronstadt
Heart Like A Wheel is her best album, followed closely by Simple Dreams. Her '70s country-rock period was her best. I never cared for that Nelson Riddle stuff, or the Mexican albums.
The first Trio album was good, and so was the duet album she did with Emmylou Harris, Western Wall. So she hasn't completely abandoned the country stuff, thankfully.
