Ray could always suffer what Paul McCartney's tech did when Paul chunked one of his Hoffner basses (I counted 6 of 'em in the cases on his tech's side of the stage) high in the air and it did not reach the tech's hand and made a horrendous

pieces went everywhere...Thus being the butt of the joke the next night, Where Paul walked all the way across the stage and gently laid the Hoffner in his tech's hand but only after teasing him by trying to intentionally trip and drop the bass
