Christy, this is true, but he still played The Chain, Go Your Own Way, Tusk, Save Me a Place, Big Love and I'm So Afraid. I think it would have been OK to drop I'm So Afraid (sorry, I know you love that song) and The Chain.
Go Your Own Way and Tusk were fine because they are his signature songs. But he still relied too much on the FM catalogue, though he can be forgiven for Big Love and Save Me a Place. Both were done in fresh, exciting ways that sounded like new songs. Numbers from Go Insane (except for the reworked title track) and Law and Order were noticeably absent. He should have done at least one or two more from each album. Trouble was the only song from Law and Order.
Be that as it may, I am not really complaining about that show because it remains the best show I have ever seen. The only other shows that come close are one by the Stones and a few Cracker concerts. (Cracker is always kick-ass. I have never seen this band do anything less than 200 percent in their performances.) I was merely pointing out that falling back on the standards seems to be ingrained in Lindsey's very fiber. I think that he could have eschewed most of the FM stuff for his solo tour. After all, he had broken with the band and he was on this doing-what-I-want kick.
