You reminded me that when I was a kid and that song used to play on the radio, I never understood what he was saying before the music kicked in (hey, I was only 9 at the time!).
When my uncle gave me the 'Law & Order' LP around '87 or '88, I recognized "Trouble" right away from having loved it on the radio.
But I felt like a big idiot when I realized he was saying, "Two... ah-three... ah-fou-ah!"
As for "Empire State" and "Not That Funny"... I dig "E.S." It's weird and funky, and again, totally fun.
I'm opposite most people in regards to "Not That Funny," because I really dig the album version, but can't stand the live versions. The first few minutes are ok, but then it gets a bit excessive for my tastes. Though I imagine it's a lot more fun to actually be in the arena as the song is being performed.
