Heck, it took her six years to make TISL.
It took her about a year to do SYW, too. Let's not forget that she doesn't just go in and record her vocals and leave. She goes in and does her vocals, gives input on the mixing, gives input on the production, helps in determining which songs go on the album, and so on. If you count the month she took to write the four songs in December '01, she worked up until about December '02, up until they left Lindsey to mix the album and party in Hawaii on John's boat.
