To my ears, 'SYW' sounds very much like a Fleetwood Mac album, because it features all of the hallmarks of a classic Mac album.
I don't personally feel that it sounds like 'Buckingham Nicks 2'... it's merely my suggestion on how one could look at it, if they're disappointed with it.
But, in my opinion, all of the Mac production sensibilities are firmly in place, and it sounds like "Fleetwood Mac."
It's just a "heavier" sound in places, because the songs are more guitar-oriented without Christine there.

But there are plenty of block harmonies, glimmering sonic nuances, and radio-friendly touches, too.

I agree that it is a very heavy sounding FM album. It has always reminded me of TITN and I think it is ridiculous for people to compare it to Tusk, just because of its length. I can't see any musical similarities between the two.
