But you know, being about 15 when "Little Lies" was released as a single, I remember buying it at Woolworth's, and thinking that Stevie's hair on the cover was just about the coolest thing I'd ever seen.
I mean, remember this
was 1987, and it was totally fashionable for a woman to have her hair all coifed on top, with straight extensions and color streaks. Stevie did it, Ann & Nancy Wilson did it, Cyndi Lauper did it (in her own inimitable way)... and heck, half the girls I knew
tried to do it (they never did quite succeed)!
At the time, it was just really hip, really glamorous "rock star hair"... it's easy to laugh at it now, but at the time, it was ultra-stylish and cool.
(Now, where did I put my old parachute pants, and the shirt with all the buckles? Hmm.......)
