Thanks, JS. While it's obvious to me the "police brutality" was a lie and I have no patience with "bad childhood" excuses, I don't think anyone is helping their cause by attacking the opposition on a personal level. A lot of people have been giving some good evidence that rebuts misterbug's points. However, I've found that if people mix personal invective with intelligent discussion and hard facts, they actually distract from their argument, and leave undecided readers with a bad taste in their mouths. Yeah, the choir members will be giving the debater lots of high-fives, but it sure won't help them get too many new converts.
Just something we can all keep in mind.
