Uhm if I were a Republican voter then I would want the Democrats to chose the greatest possible moron among the candidates. When he wins these pre elections he would have no chance against the current president. (and vice versa if there`s a Democratic president)
Well at least it seems the democratic voters did so with Bush last time, just that they didn`t expect him to win in the end
No but seriously: you can pick your opponents candidate? How does that work...?
In some states there is actually "crossover voting" where regardless of your party affiliation you can vote in the primaries.
