I happy hour with several guys my age, and a few years older. EVERYONE says the the 1970s was the best decade of music, ever. I usually add, "it doesn't have to be 1970-80. I say that 1975-1985 is the best 10 years of music ever produced", and usually get agreement that those were the best years.
