IMHO the Tusk era is the band at their peak everything: Fame, drugs, arrogance, toxic relationships, etc. The photoshoots sort of prove that too. Stevie said something like she would go into the dark studio with giant elephant tusks in the front and sometimes wondered what they were doing. Rumours always gets mentioned for the dysfunction and the breaking up. But the photoshoots were beautiful. Right before Rumours was released and those photoshoots took place they still had their feet on the ground. For Tusk everyone was in a toxic relationship and the drug use increased where it was not just funneling creativity anymore. Its almost like the record company said "we need to do photoshoots and the band did not care, were wasted, acted goofy, did not listen to anyone because they were on top of the world. It also was the last gasp of the 1970s shabby looks.
