My gawd….compare lists like that to the s..t today. Will today’s kids look back on current lists in 20, 30, 40 years time with the same feelings? I doubt it. At least not to anywhere near the same extent.
Evolution means things should get better. Music is the one area that bucks that. Though, I appreciate its subjective.
May I ask you a question since you are in the UK? Why do you think Chris's 1984 solo album did so poor in the UK? It was a moderal success in the States and even more successful in some European countries. Yet it bombed in the UK. Since her first solo album many years earlier (pre-Mac) did so well you would have thought they would have eaten up her solo album.
