Would Waddy or Warren have been there if Lindsey hadn't been??
ok obvious jokes aside about them being there to woo Stevie, but otherwise....? I mean, it sorta proves the point that her appeal was sex appeal.
She said in recent years that Lindsey was the man who loved her the most out of all the men in her life. I think the evidence proves that out. And she exploited that for decades, sending him tapes of her stuff and asking him to help her out (even while slagging him off in the press). Chris couldn't figure out what to do with her sh*t, Petty admitted he often couldn't figure it out, and then they'd call in Lindsey to the rescue and he'd say oh do this and that etc and Tom said he'd listen to Lindsey's ideas and think to himself "oh, yeah, duh..why didn't I think of that" and said that despite their enmity Lindsey remains her best producer.
So I get why she felt the need to break away and show she was her own talent but.... her most enduring material remains the stuff he arranged and produced...
