I think the story about how Richard met them is from the same source somebody
used for his book. cause it's very similar. Since it was in quotation marks, I assume those are Richard's own words:
"They were staying with Keith Olsen," he remembers, "and cutting their album. Lindsey and I were friends five minutes after we met that first day of work. We went out back and smoked a joint. I met Stevie and twenty minutes later we decided to get a place together, since l was looking and they had to move out of Keith's. So we moved to North Hollywood, near Universal. I'd come home after twenty hours working with Keith in the studio and trip over Lindsey's microphone cables. He'd be up late working with his four-track. Various guitar players Waddy Wachtel and Warren Zevon would be passed out on the floor. Sometimes I'd find Stevie sleeping in my bed because she'd had a big argument with Lindsey. It wasn't a very easy life; you had to be resilient, and we were young."
