I never did get into the Beach Boys. I respect them for their different sound, harmonies and catchy pop songs. But both Chris and Lindsey have written songs about a member of the Beach Boys. Paul McCartney (who would have extreme standards) lists a Beach Boy album as the best album ever recorded. I just don't get it. Perhaps I need to be a better musician or something because the people that I love an respect treat the Beach Boys better than the Stones. Even when my favorite band did a cover of Farmer's Daughter its a snooze fest and can't believe they have wasted their time for such a song. Don't get me wrong, Dennis Wilson provided the inspiration for some of Chris's best songs. My brain does not register Beach Boys as great as my heroes say they are.
I love the Christine McVie story of her Beverly Hills home in the late 1970s blasting Steely Dan out by the pool area echoing in the canyons of Beverly Hills. Now THAT is a party I want to be at. Some Colombian Gold and some of her best wine talking to Chris and I'm a happy camper
Its so much more fun than staying up all night taking polaroid photos of Stevie in the john
