Interestingly, Shirley Eikhard also covered "Say You Love Me", which was actually released as a single in Canada
before the original recording by Fleetwood Mac. At one point, both versions were actively competing with each other on the charts. On the
August 28, 1976 chart, Fleetwood Mac's version jumped up from #69 to #55, surpassing Eikhard's version in the process, which dropped from #45 to #58.
Fleetwood Mac's "Say You Love Me" performed considerably worse in Canada compared to the other singles from the White Album ("Over My Head: peak position of #9; "Rhiannon": peak position of #4; "Say You Love Me": peak position of #29). It's pretty likely that the moderate chart success of Eikhard's version (peaked at #34) tempered the chart run of Fleetwood Mac's original.
