By all accounts, of S&L, Stevie was far more amenable to joining FM, and had to sort of cajole or encourage or whatever Lindsey to consider it and why it could be good for them. (She has said years ago that they were already on the rocks in their romantic relationship, so personally I think having more space from Lindsey in the form of other musicians to work with in a band context was very appealing to her so she wasn't the one always in his crosshairs). I think she very much made it a point to be charming and friendly and all that with FM to ensure there were no issues with any of them, not just Chris. Now that I think about it, I don't recall anyone ever saying that they specifically said out loud to S&L that the dinner was sort of a trial to see how they all got along; I've always heard it presented as a convo that happened between the Brits beforehand. Maybe someone knows otherwise....

I agree with you, I always thought it was a conversation amongst Mick, John and Christine. And yes, Stevie was all for joining FM and Lindsey wanted to focus on BN2.
