The story changed with the reunion, when they were do things like “Behind the Music”. If we’re to believe everything said around that time, Fleetwood Mac didn’t exist after the Inauguration and Christine made a solo album.

However, the account from Mick’s 1990 book and Keith’s 2011 interview perfectly align. That phone call was between both of them, not Lindsey or Stevie, and that call ended with Mick telling Keith to convince them -both of them- to join Fleetwood Mac.

Plus, to my knowledge, there was never an accounting that suggests Mick asked Lindsey to join without Stevie. Lindsey might have said he wouldn’t join without Stevie, but the offer was never actually for just him.
