The 4k Blu-ray buyers are all about Dolby Atmos. It’s the hot thing in ultra-high definition these days. They say it’s a step up from surround sound because it also moves the sound
above and
below you (or seems to).
However, you need a home theater or audio setup that can process Atmos — and outstanding speakers to go with it. Otherwise, it really isn’t worth your buying things in Atmos. I have a standard 5.1 audio setup with my 4k Blu-ray player, and when I play a 4k disk with Atmos, it sounds like traditional 5.1 because my system doesn’t distribute the sound above and below me.
