Yes. Describing Brown Eyes as mood hits it on the nail. Its so much deeper than a typical romantic song Chris may sing or write. The mood and hush vocals are so sultry.
Chris obviously was so proud of the song that during post Tusk tours it was her Tusk contribution to the live set for Mirage and Tango. When I first bought Tusk it was immediately my favorite song on the album.
Chris stated it was about Dennis however he did not have Brown Eyes. She took the brown eyes inspiration from one of her dogs that had Brown Eyes. Brown Eyes are so dark, mysterious and can be quite romantic so IMHO the color works so much better instead of Blue Eyes or Green Eyes. The dark color brown just fits the music better. But that is my subjective opinion.
