Have you heard of a duo called Buckingham Nicks? They actually recorded an album and have appeared at each other's solo shows on and off for decades.
If they have a reunion, say at Hyde Park in London, the crowd will go nuts regardless of whether Mick and John are there.

Regardless of what you might think, most non-diehard fans don't know who John McVie is. He is replaceable in that sense and there are A TONNE of great bassists who could fill his shoes.
