I agree, i remember thinking stevie absolutely looked awful that night. marty and i were both sitting there stunned. the others looked pretty good. years ago i asked john what his thoughts were on that night and he said he was a republican who 'objected to clinton, period!' (actually he said it all in capitals for emphasis!
) but that the majority ruled with that decision, so he went with it. (he also said the majority ruling 'accounted for some of the stupid decisions the band has made over the years' lmao) But he obviously wasn't gonna fight it too hard, because chris certainly wanted to do it and that would override his political objections. when he talked about it in that dance group interview, he seemed to have fond memories of it.
