IMO, Stevie's voice has been very limited since the late 80s, that's just a fact. She did so much damage to it back in the day. Lately, when it comes to vocals, it's hit or miss with her. TISL was pro-tooled to death and even then, although I like the album a lot, there are some atrocious vocals on it. Now for SYW. The vocal on Thrown Down (album version) is another painful thing to sit through. It's flat, droning, and has nothing special to it. The emotion seems faked and more vocals from Lindsey are desired. This vocal makes the one on Destiny Rules seem golden.
The song Say You Will is rather bland. It's a sunny pop tune with nothing unique about it. LeAnn Rimes could do it just as well as Stevie. She doesn't sing so much as talk on it and it wouldn't leave anyone with the impression that Stevie is a particularly good singer.
Sorry, but I think Stevie's granny voice rears it's ugly head once in awhile.
But I still love her.
