I love L. Frank Baum's work.. The Life & Adventures of Santa Claus is an overlooked masterpiece of children's literature.. but back to Oz..if only Stevie had turned out more like Glinda or Dorthy. I wouldn't even say she's the Wicked Witch.. modern Stevie reminds me more of Princess Langwidere from the third book, Ozma of Oz- the vain, lazy ruler who's mostly interested in taking off and changing her head, based on her mood, from her "cabinet full of beautiful heads" instead of doing anything meaningful or productive.
