We do get 2 excellent Stevie songs written during this time: Straight Back and Sable On Blonde (going to France and breaking up with Jimmy). Stevie's life was moving at record speed. Off the Tusk tour she went into the studio for Bella Donna. Once completed, she jet setted back and forth from France and went on tour with Petty flying in for shows around the country. Once his tour finished, she went into rehearsal for her short tour. Then she went back to France to finish Mirage. Came back to the states to make 2 long videos and hit the road with the Mac. Then she went into recording Wild Heart and went on a drug binge tour with Joe. No wonder she was a drug crazed rock star. Just imagine that busy and crazy schedule while everything you touch turns to gold. Bella Donna and Mirage both went to #1 and now they were also video stars.
Too bad there was not a documentary about the making of Mirage. I would enjoy it more than the Tusk one. It was the end of an era for the band and I love every tiny detail about it.
